Parramatta Stadium is one NSW's premier multi-purpose arenas regularly hosting a variety of sporting, entertainment, corporate, cultural and community events. Opened in 1986 by her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and HRH Prince Phillip on 5th March 1986.

Situated just over 20km from Sydney's CBD and is located in the geographic epicentre epicentre of the city close to more than 2 million people living in Western Sydney Region. Parramatta is the home to the Parramatta Eels NRL club and has hosted many major sporting events. Major concerts by Paul McCartney and Michael Jackson have been held at the venue as well as shows involving Australian artists including Vanessa Amorosi, Christine Anu, Yothu Yindi, Human Nature, Kulcha and Madison Avenue. The venue is also hired for community events such as Youth Alive, The Wiggles, Teddy Bears Picnic and Carols by Candlelight.

Parramatta Stadium Overview Seating Western Grandstand = 4921 Western Terrace = 3824 Eastern Grandstand = 4142 Eastern Terrace = 4183 Northern Terrace = 2160 Southern Terrace = 2257 Total = 20,857 All seats are individual moulded plastic shells and are all numbered. Arena Surface The arena surface is classified as a sand/mesh profile capable of handling high usage and accomodating up to 100mm rain per hour. The surface comprimises a mixture of Santa Anna couch grass with a winter oversewing of Rye Grass.
Lighting Four lighting towers provide the venue with four levels of lighting ranging from 130 lux for training through to 1000 lux for night time TV coverage complying with international TV lighting standards. Corporate Facilties The Parramatta Stadium has a range of corporate facilities ranging from its main room, the Cumberland Lounge. The Cumberland Lounge currently can host up to 150 in a cocktail style event or 128 for a seated meal. The Parramatta Stadium also has 15 corporate suites with a capacity of 480. Change Rooms The Parramatta Stadium has two designated changerooms with direct access to the area which include showers and modern medical facilities. Crowd Security The Parramatta stadium has a 24hour CCTV video surveillance system in place to monitor crowd behaviour. The system has the capability to take individual photos or record incidents as they occur in real time. Car Parking The Stadium has parking facilities for over 250 vehicles. The Parramatta Stadium also runs shuttle bus service on large event days from nearby Parramatta Railway Station and Parramatta CBD. Media Facilities The Western Grandstand contains a Media Centre which accomodates all media requirements including Tv, Radio and Written Press. Facilities include: - Designated area for Outside Broadcast vans - Tv viewing platform on the centre line of the field - 2 Tv commentators boxes - 3 Radio commentators boxes - Reserved seating area for 34 print media - Designated room for press including desk and phone lines.
