Parramatta Stadium is a multi-purpose outdoor Stadium which was officially opened by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and HRH Prince Phillip on 5 March, 1986. Patrons and hirers acknowledge that the Stadium is the most intimate and enjoyable facility for entertainment and sporting events.   
 
Cumberland
Stadium History
The Cumberland Oval site has been Parramatta’s major outdoor sports and recreation venue since 1847. Cumberland Oval was a site of great sporting historical significance.   
 
Redevelopment
Stadium History
In 1983 the NSW State Government approved redevelopment of Cumberland Oval under a special Local Environment Plan, imposing strict environmental controls.
